The Bar Exam Structure

The exam is administered externally by the California Bar and the New York State Board of Law Examiners (NYBOLE), in conjunction with the National Conference of Bar Examiners (NCBE). It consists of three key components held over two days:

Day 1

Multistate Essay Exam (MEE): Tests your ability to communicate effectively in writing through essay-style questions.
Multistate Performance Test (MPT): A skills-based assessment to evaluate fundamental legal skills required for practice.

Day 2

Multistate Bar Exam (MBE): A multiple-choice exam covering:
- Civil Procedure
- Constitutional Law
- Contracts
- Criminal Law & Procedure
- Evidence
- Real Property
- Torts

Please note the booking deadline is 12 weeks before the first day of your chosen exam month.
