SQE Plus Banking and Capital Markets
Banking and Capital Markets is a practical guide to a field perennially influenced by both legal and market forces. The text is divided into three parts: Part I provides a clear and accessible explanation of the fundamentals behind drafting loan facility documentation; Part II provides a thorough examination of secured lending, which is probably the most legally complex area of the banking solicitor’s practice; and Part III provides a straightforward introduction to capital markets financing, including the process of issuing a stand-alone bond.
This textbook is suitable for anyone studying the Debt Finance or Finance (available to bespoke sponsored students only) module from January 2024.

This new 2024 edition of The University of Law SQE Plus manuals has been revised to bring the law and procedure up to date as at 1 October 2023.
This book is part of a series of study manuals that have been specially designed to cover content for students studying Key Practice Areas on the LLM Legal Practice (SQE1&2). Published and updated regularly, these user-friendly study manuals are designed to help you successfully acquire knowledge and understanding of the foundational law of England & Wales. This book can be used for the Debt Finance Key Practice Area as part of the Corporate Pathway of the SQE Plus.
Each title is designed to operate as a study manual, rather than solely a textbook. This means that understanding of the subject is developed using worked examples and activities.
For students only at The University of Law, the study manuals are used alongside other learning resources to prepare students not only for achievement of an academic qualification, but also for a future life in professional legal practice.
