The modules are only available to CILEx Fellows.
They are an alternative route to CILEx Advanced Practice Rights. Complete training and assessment in one of the following areas of practice.
• Civil Litigation
• Conveyancing
• Probate
• Family
Each module is online, part-time (approximately six months in duration). 10 units in each module, with a formative assessment (mock) after Unit 4 and final assessments in the last two weeks of the module. Learning is asynchronous rather than live-streamed.
Students produce work for each unit and are supported by a tutor. There are five live Support Sessions for students to raise queries on their work and seek further guidance from a tutor. Digital resources (including online tutorials, tasks, reading materials, and access to the Library Service) are provided.
On successful completion students receive 20 credits at Master’s level.
There is an Assessment Only version. Online, part-time (approximately three months in duration). Teaching, resources and mock assessment are not provided.
Final assessment takes place in the last two weeks of the course.
The assessment is all online and has two components:
- A two-hour skills assessment – client interview (video conferencing) followed by appropriate written communication (e.g. letter of advice, letter before claim, instructions to expert draft witness statement).
- A 90-minute multiple-choice examination (MCQ) to assess knowledge, invigilated online in a closed-book environment. There are 45 questions.
Please Note: All learners must contact CILEx Regulation to check their eligibility before booking this course.
